Kathryn Schram Obituary
Kathryn (Borst) Schram 81, of Mancelona, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday the 4th of December 2025.
Kathy was born on December 18th , 1943, to her mother Dana Lanning of Mancelona and father Ty Borst of Alba. Kathy married the love of her life, Jerry Schram, in October of 1964. Kathy was a hard worker and an amazing wife and mother. Her true passion in life was her family. She loved them with all her heart. Kathy enjoyed cooking, quilting, canning and giving back to others in any way she could. She could often be found on a warm summer night sitting around the bonfire tapping her foot to some classic country music surrounded by her family.
Kathy is survived by her husband Jerry Schram; children, Andrew Watrous, Jerry and Kathy Schram, Terry Schram, Toby Schram, and Todd and Kathy Schram; her 13 grandchildren Nikkie, Brooke, Dakota, Kayla, Lindsey, Stephen, Michael, Kendra, Hailey, Kaitlin, Kristin, Todd, and Kelsey; her 15 great grandchildren, Hank, Ace, Brock, Cash, Braxton, Sawyer, Bowman, Waylon, Birdie, Casper, Harlow, Lincoln, Wyndam, Hannah, and Samantha; nieces, nephews, cousins and all the adopted children, and grandchildren who all called her Ma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dana Burmester (Lanning) Ernie Burmester and Ty Borst; her beloved daughter Tonda Watrous; brother Darrell Burmester and sister Phyllis and Conrad Pawlowski.
Memorial services and gathering will be held on Monday December 8th , 2025, for a viewing at Mortensen Funeral Home 205 W. State Street, Mancelona MI; 5:00pm- 8:00pm. There will be another viewing at the Mancelona Free Methodist Church 10725 Darragh Rd. Mancelona Mi.; on Tuesday at 1:00pm-2:00pm. The funeral will follow at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flower please donate to your local food pantry as this cause is near and dear to our Ma’s heart.
