Kathleen Marie Britton, affectionately known to her dear ones as Kathy, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, the 25th of December, 2025, in
Austin, Texas. Born on the 3rd of September, 1964, in the town of Hulbert, Michigan, Kathy's zest for life and her loving spirit were a beacon of joy for all who knew her.
Kathy's journey began as the cherished daughter of her late parents, whose love and values were deeply instilled in her character. Her life was enriched by her loving husband of 38 years, Randy Britton, and together they raised two wonderful sons, Chris and Mike Britton, who were the pride and joy of her life. Kathy's family circle included her devoted brother, Richard Kolton, and her caring stepfather, Terry Yates, alongside numerous extended family members who will miss her profoundly.
A proud graduate of the class of 1982, Kathy's dedication to her education was reflected in her work ethic throughout her career. She was a respected and familiar face in retail, having served with passion and commitment for many years with several different companies. Kathy's colleagues will remember her as a supportive and enthusiastic team member, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Kathy's love for the great outdoors was unmistakable. She relished every opportunity to hike with her beloved Randy, embracing the beauty of nature and the simple pleasures of life. Their shared travels were filled with laughter, discovery, and the creation of lasting memories. Kathy's love for nature was not only a hobby but a testament to her appreciation for the world's wonders.
To describe Kathy is to speak of love, thoughtfulness, and an indomitable spirit that uplifted those around her. Her kindness touched many lives, and her thoughtful gestures brought comfort and happiness to friends and strangers alike. Kathy's spirited nature was contagious, inspiring others to live each day with positivity and gratitude.
Though we mourn the loss of such a remarkable soul, we take solace in the legacy she leaves behind-a legacy of love, laughter, and the courage to embrace life's adventures. Kathy's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
