Kathy Cannon Obituary
Kathy Ann Cannon, also affectionately known as Nana Kat and Aunt Kathy, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 60.
Kathy was the matriarch of her family, a devoted mother, and a caring presence to all who knew her - a woman of humor, honesty, loyalty, wit, and strength. She loved crafts, caring for her family, and thrift store adventures, and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel seen and understood.
She is survived by her devoted partner of 19 years, Thomas Harris of Covington, her children: Aleisha McGee of Stone Mountain; Eddie Cannon of Covington; and Matthew Cannon (Breanna Childers) of Covington. She cherished her grandchildren: Tyler McGee, Trinity McGee, Leola Brooks, Jacob Capes, Harmony Bradberry, and a granddaughter on the way, Neveah Cannon (Matt and Breanna). She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Jacob Capes Jr. and Roselyn Capes.
Other family members especially dear to her include her brother Scott Bowman, her nephews Chase and Devin Gilmore, Randy "Blake" Bowman, and her niece Brittany Mitchell of Dallas, GA.
Kathy joins her parents, Lorraine and Paul "Buddy" Bowman; her brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Finest "Anna" Bowman; and her nephew, Brandon Bowman, in a long-awaited reunion in heaven.
Her love, generosity, and spirit touched countless lives. Kathy's legacy as matriarch, mother, and cherished "Aunt Kathy" will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
Family and friends will gather from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM Saturday November 29, 2025 at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2773 N Decatur Rd Decatur, Georgia 30033. A celebration of life service will begin at 10:00 AM in The Chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will be follow in Melwood Cemetery 5170 E Ponce de Leon Ave. Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083.
