Kathy Lynn Chenoweth, 78, of Plato passed away November 9, 2025. Kathy was born on September 24, 1947, in Valparaiso, IN to Jack J. and Vivian Maxine (Berlincourt) Niksch.
On November 7, 1970, Kathy married the love of her life, Ron Chenoweth. To this union two children were born, Robert and Jennifer.
Kathy began her teaching career in the state of Indiana as a first-grade teacher. Upon moving to Fort Leonard Wood, she began teaching sixth grade for the Waynesville School District. Her sixth-grade team, that she loved teaching with, was known as the "Dream Team", because they were the most amazing teachers. Kathy finally retired from the teaching profession in 2007, after teaching a total of 31 years.
Kathy attended Roby Christian Church. She truly loved her church family. Pastor Jeff and his wife, Elizabeth were highly thought of by her.
She was a loving, caring woman with a big heart. Her family meant the world to her, thus, spending time with them was what made her whole. Kathy enjoyed watching the Food Network channel and attending barbecues. She will be missed by those who know and loved her best.
Kathy is survived by her children, Jennifer Crewse (Lloyd Crewse) and Robert Chenoweth (Jessica Rader); grandchildren, Brett Crewse (Maylia), Kendra Tieben (BJ), Shayna Chenoweth, Ashton Chenoweth, and Kaeli Chenoweth; and great-grandchildren, Levi Crewse, Lila Crewse, Laken Crewse, Lindy Crewse, and Brady Chenoweth.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Chenoweth; sister, Karen Herlitz; brother, John Niksch, father, Jack Niksch; and mother, Maxine Niksch.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00AM-12:00 PM at Roby Christian Church. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Wofford officiating. Interment will follow at Palace Cemetery. Arrangement entrusted to Evans Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.evansfh.com
