Kathy J. Dierking, 68, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Sullivan, MO passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Evelyn's House in St. Louis, MO, after a long battle with cancer.
Kathy Jean was born on March 1, 1957, one of twelve children born to John Virgil and Anna Marie (Sweany) Loless in Belleville, Illinois. The Loless family made their home in many different places including the Kansas City area; here Kathy graduated from Grandview High School in 1975. Kathy furthered her education by attending beauty school and owned her own shop for many years on Clark Street.
Kathy was united in marriage to Robert Dierking on July 3, 1976, at Sullivan First Assembly and they were blessed with two children, Chrissie and David. Bob and Kathy were active members of First Assembly for many years where Kathy served as church secretary, children's pastor, Women's leader, sang with the choir and also a trio known as "Chosen Few". She would continue her ministry in Ohio and several other churches in Missouri. Her last home church was First Assembly in St. Peter's where she was also very dedicated to ministry.
Kathy never met a stranger and made friends for life wherever she went. She had the ability to connect with people on the deepest level. She was also very creative and talented. Her list of abilities was endless and included painting, crafting, wallpapering, and especially sewing. Kathy would awake early and decide to make a new dress which she would have finished in time for Sunday School.
Kathy loved Jesus, loved people, and adored her grandsons. Her vocation in life changed abruptly when Kacyn was born. She became his main caregiver until he passed on December 9, 2020. She lovingly cared and advocated for him all of his life. Throughout life, Kathy personified Christ, maintained a positive attitude with a smile on her face and song in her heart.
Kathy is survived by her children, Chrissie Dierking and David Dierking and wife, Jennifer all of St. Charles, MO; one grandson, Josiah Dierking; 7 siblings: Joyce Jagger and husband, Dale of Binghamton, NY, Charlene Espinosa of Boise, ID, Barbara Lugenbell of Ozark, MO, Sylvia White of Nixa, MO, John Loless and wife Rosie of Willard, MO, Paula Campbell and partner Dan Mottl of Lewisburg, MO, Karen Norris of Springfield, MO; in-laws, Ervin Dierking, Ina Bates and Mary Price; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Dierking; a beloved grandson, Kacyn Dierking; her parents, John and Anna Loless; and 4 siblings: Judith Evans, Gail Dean, Kelley Bentlage and Sharon Loless.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 14, 2025, at First Assembly Church in St. Peters, MO, with Pastor Jeremy Mount officiating. Interment will follow in Crow Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.
