Kathy J. Ellis
August 7, 1959 – October 16, 2025
Kathy J. Ellis, 66, passed away on October 16, 2025. She was born on August 7, 1959, in Shelbyville and spent most of her life in Rush County, where she was known and loved by many.
Kathy lived life to the fullest each and every day. She was the life of the party, with an incredible gift for making people laugh. She loved singing, dancing, and pulling everyone else into the fun. Though shy in her younger years, Kathy blossomed into a social butterfly who never met a stranger. Her joy, humor, and personality lit up every room she entered, and her memory will continue to brighten the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Cari (Jason) Herbert and Melissa (Jonah) Buckler; her beloved grandchildren, Mikayla, Ellis, Sophia, and Sadie; her sister, Jane (Mike) Hawley; her brother, Dan (Sharon) Breece; nephews Jordan (Katie) Hawley and Matt (Kristie) Hawley; niece Kaitlyn (Bryce) Toll; and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Kathy's memory with stories, laughter, and food. Friends and family are invited to join on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 4:00 PM at The Eagles in Rushville.
