Earl Parton Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Earl Dennis "Dallas" Parton, 71, of Franklin, Indiana passed away on October 10th while enjoying a weekend away with his wife and friends.
Dennis was born January 3, 1954, in Franklin, Indiana the son of Vernie Parton and Janice Alcorn.
Dennis graduated from Whiteland Community High School in 1972. He held jobs in various industries before settling on a career as a trucker. Dennis spent 18 years driving for Cellofoam and then switched to dock work at USF Holland where he retired in 2021(?).
Dennis was a member of Southside Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Dennis married Sarah Lynn Parton (Fewell) on July 2, 1987, in Cocke County Tennessee by the Honorable Marcus Mooneyham. Dennis and Sarah were married 38 years before his passing. He truly treated her as the love of his life and endearingly called her "mommy" even after their children were grown.
Dennis loved all things aerospace and had always dreamed of becoming a pilot. He enjoyed learning about space and discussing extraterrestrial topics with anyone who would listen. Dennis had a passion for music, especially if it was loud. Some of his favorites were Pink Floyd, Ryan Bingham, and Chris Stapleton. His most beloved past time, however, was spending time with his children and grandchildren and running "Pappy's Daycare".
Dennis could always be counted on for a laugh, a dad joke, or a deep theological question, but most importantly he could be counted on to help in time of need. He loved deeply, worked with diligence and integrity, and provided well for his family. He believed in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus for his salvation and so looked forward to meeting Jesus face to face-with a long list of inquisition.
Remaining to cherish Dennis's memory are spouse, Sarah Parton; children, Dustin Parton, Amber Parton, Deby Clark, Harrison (Valerie) Parton, Hamilton (Taylor) Parton, and Mackenzie (Jaylin) Brown; grandchildren, Quentin, Eli, and Ariana Parton, Tristan Parton, Samantha, Victoria, and Brittany Clark, Hazel and Harlan Parton, Cove Parton, Samuel Brown and Selah Brown; great-grandchildren, Luna and Nyla, and Arya and Lincoln; Brother, Douglas Parton (Brenda) Parton; Sister-in-law, Karen Fulmer; and niece Anna Foster; Beloved Stepmom Marilyn Parton; Step siblings, Sherri (Wayne) Robins & family, Kent (Sondra) Lacefield & family, Linda (Jeff) Lacefield-Frazier & family, Billy (Debbie) Lacefield & family, Vern (Erika) Lacefield & family.
Preceding Dennis in death are granddaughter Caroline Brown; parents, Vernie Parton and Janice Alcorn; brother, Gary; sister-in-law Pauletta Litchford, brother-in-law James Fewell; and nephew Jed Fulmer.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11am at Southside Reformed Presbyterian Church with Memorial service to follow at 12pm with Pastor David Hanson officiating
