Kathy Hess

Kathy J. Hess, 65, of Fort Loudon, PA, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
Kathy was born in Chambersburg, PA on September 24, 1958, a daughter of the late Zereau S. (Stermer) Higgins and Clair Higgins, Jr. She was the loving wife of Edgar "Ed" P. Hess, Jr., who she married on May 29, 1977.
Kathy graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1976. She worked as a bank teller for forty one years in Mercersburg, PA. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Fort Loudon, PA, where she served on the consistory and sang in the choir.
Kathy enjoyed going on cruises, reading a good book, cooking and baking for family and friends and going up-state to the "Cabin". Her passion was her family, which she loved dearly, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Jamie C. (husband of Kara) Hess, of Russell, PA, Eric R. (husband of Desiree) Hess, of Warren, PA, sister Karen S. (wife of Michael) Rosenberry, of Fort Loudon, PA and brother Roger L. (husband of Peggy) Higgins, of Chambersburg, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Madilyn, Emma, Hunter, Kiley and Ryder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Rodney R. Higgins.
Funeral services will be held at Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 with Pastor Peter Billings officiating. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Stenger Hill Cemetery Fort Loudon, PA.
