Kathy D. Hooper, age 74, of Waleska, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 20, 2025. Born in Marietta, GA, on January 17, 1951, Kathy was known for her loving nature and her unwavering faith, which remained a cornerstone of her life.
Together with her late husband, Buddy Hooper, Kathy was a well-respected businesswoman in her community, having co-owned and operated the beloved Hooper's Grocery. Kathy's talents were many, but she shone brightest when sharing her gift of music. A singer and songwriter, her voice was a familiar, cherished presence throughout her life in her church, where she sang with devotion.
She had a love for traveling. Kathy believed in the power of exploring new places and creating memories around the world. Above all she loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Kathy's legacy is that of a life beautifully lived and lovingly remembered. She faced every day with a faith-filled heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Hooper; son, Bobby Little; mother, Laura G. Davis; father, Dewey Davis; and brother, Lamar Davis.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Rhonda King; grandchildren, Gracie King and Noah King; brothers, Wayne Davis and Mike Davis; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Ware officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. A private interment will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
