Kathy Hutchins Bright

Kathy Hutchins Bright, age 73, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Kathy was born Thursday, February 22, 1951 in Rutherford County to the late Doc Hutchins and Lucille Scoggins Hutchins. Her labor of love was being a wedding planner for many years. She enjoyed baking and decorating unique wedding cakes for each wedding and organizing the special occasion by providing everything from catering to floral arrangements. Kathy also enjoyed sewing for her family and making crafts to share with others. While her son was in school, she served as the President of the PTO which allowed her to plan events and activities for the students. Kathy’s faith was exhibited in her love for reading the Bible every day. She leaves a legacy as a dedicated Christian, mother, sister and friend.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Andy Bright (Lindsey) of Winston-Salem; siblings, Freida Cosgriff (Jim) of Dearborn, Michigan, Lance Hutchins, Steve Hutchins (Cheryl), Mark Hutchins (Myra) all of Forest City and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Terry White officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
