We are sad to announce the passing of Kathy Sue Knight of Athens, TX. Kathy was born on April 16, 1951, to Ted Wayne and Kay Eugene Nowell. She joined our Lord on July 30, 2023. Kathy was proceeded in death by her husband of 32 years, Tommy Knight and her parents. She leaves on this earth her sons Patrick Schrum (Ann), Cody Knight (Katie), Taylor Knight (Jennifer), Richard Knight (Brandy), Kevin Gibson (Vayden), and Thomas Gibson; daughters Kacy Leis (Shawn), Kaylee Singleton (Chris), Amy Knight, and Ellen Bledsoe (Steve); brother Ted Wayne Nowell II (Debra) and sister Kelliann Attaway. Kathy was greatly blessed with 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren that made her life complete. Kathy was a dedicated teacher, who retired from Malakoff High School.
Kathy's days of retirement were filled with her favorite pastimes and cherished moments with family. Whether it was the thrill of thrifting, discovering new treasures for her next craft project or the moments spent cheering on her beloved grandchildren at their various events, the memories of her will forever be etched in the hearts of her loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Church of Athens in Athens, TX, Thursday August 3, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., with Pastor Darren Miller officiating. Graveside service will be private.
