Kathy Pack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sanders Funeral Home - Lubbock on Feb. 3, 2026.
Kathy Jane Richerson Pack, 74, of Lubbock, Texas passed away January 25, 2026.

Kathy was born December 3, 1951, to Colonel Robert Delton Richerson and Anna Lois Richerson. Kathy married Nolan Pack Jr on October 31, 1971. They had two daughters Tisha Pack and Terra Pack.

As the daughter of an Air Force officer, she spent her early years moving frequently before graduating from Arlington High School. She enjoyed referring to herself as a military brat. Kathy worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. Mattison, a role that reflected her caring heart and dedication to others. She later helped build and operate The Country Depot, a family grocery store. She also worked for the City of Lubbock, where she remained until retirement.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Delton and Anna Richerson as well as her husband Nolan Pack Jr.

Kathy is lovingly remembered by her children: Tisha Pack, Terra Pack, Ben Prince and wife Debra. Known as 'Honey' to her grandchildren: Laini and husband Chris, Jade and fiancé Jayse, Sage, Kane, Brynlee and Avary. Her great-grandchildren: Sophia, Laylaa, and Jackson. She is also remembered by her honorary grandchildren: Emily, Abigail, Matthew, and Zoie.

She was known for her love of music and was a skilled steel guitar player and would play with local bands. She enjoyed going out to eat with her friends on Friday nights. She loved her family deeply and had a special bond with each and every one. If you knew Kathy, you knew her love for animals and her dogs. Her beloved dog Splinter, remained faithfully by her side. Kathy is now reunited with our Heavenly Father and loved ones in Heaven. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.

We invite you to celebrate Kathy's life on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2pm where graveside services will be held at the Abernathy cemetery, located at 1286-1298 Co Rd 325, Abernathy, Tx 79311, as we remember the joyful moments she brought to our lives.

Yesterday

I was quite saddened to learn of Kathy's passing. I knew her in 1970-1971. We dated for a while before she met Nolan. I was attracted to her wit, spirit, and beauty. After knowing her I realized what a kind and compassionate person she was. We had many great times together and I have many great memories of her. We saw each other a couple of times through the years and she always seemed to be the same person I knew way back then. I know she will be missed by all those that knew her. And I think the world will be a lesser place without her. Goodbye Kathy and may your spirit and energy live on.
