Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Kathy Gower Stewart, age 73, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Benson, NC, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Antioch United Methodist Church 5289 US HWY 701 S. Four Oaks, NC 27524. Rev. Walter Gaskins, Rev. Marshall Stewart, and Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was born on August 13, 1950 in Johnston County, NC to the late Lawrence Alton Gower and Lavina Elizabeth Rowe Gower. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis Arnold Stewart, and brothers, Alton Gower, Wilton Gower, Elbert Gower, and Gordon Gower. Mrs. Stewart retired as a secretary with Farm Bureau in Smithfield, NC and Benson, NC. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed the beach, playing golf, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, Four Oaks, NC.
Survivors include her daughter, Dee Stewart Morgan and husband, Sammy Joe of Benson, NC; grandchildren, Danielle Elizabeth Morgan, and Stewart Ray Morgan; sisters, Grace Daughtry, Linda Dixon and husband, Gary, and Diane Creech; brother, Jimmy Gower and wife, Janice; sisters-in-law, Margarette Gower, Carolyn Gower, Pat Thompson and husband, Vernon; brother-in-law, Dennis Stewart and wife, Teresa; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC, and other times at the home of Dee and Sammy Joe Morgan 395 Wood’s Crossroads Road, Benson, NC 27504.
