Kathy A. Syson, age 69, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah. On December 2, 1955, Kathy Ann was one of three children born to Jacob and Ellen (Richmond) Smuda in Chicago, Illinois. Kathy was united in marriage to Thomas R. Syson on May 17, 1974 in Chicago. Together they had two children and Kathy especially loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. They moved to Wisconsin and resided in Walworth for many years. Following Tom's death, Kathy moved to central Wisconsin to be closer to her children and was residing in Berlin at the time of her passing. Kathy enjoyed crafting, gardening, feeding and watching the birds, and snuggling with her dog, Moose.
She will be greatly missed by her children: David (Ann) Syson and Stacey (Kevin) Walther; her grandchildren: Grace and Andrew Syson, Jonathan Quick, and Nathan Walther; step-grandchildren: Amanda and Meaghan Ronayne and Joshua and Nicole Walther; her sister, Mary Jo (John) Mixtacki; her brother, Al (Susan) Smuda, her aunt, Becky Doherty; her beloved dog, Moose; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Time of Gathering will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Kessler Fahrenkrug Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, Wisconsin 54956. Interment will be Monday afternoon at East Delavan Union Cemetery in Delavan, Wisconsin.
