Kathy Lynn Thomas

Kathy Lynn Thomas, age 66, passed away at home on January 6, 2026. Kathy was born on September 23, 1959 in Corning, NY to parents Ernest L. and Betty G. Perry Tongue Jr. She married her high school sweetheart, Billy Thomas, on February 16, 1980, and they shared a deep and enduring bond. He predeceased her on October 1, 2025.
Kathy loved her family and spending time with them. As a child she learned to play cards, and was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed trips to the Casino. She and Billy shared a love for treasure hunting at weekend rummage sales, and they were inseparable in everything they did,
She is survived by siblings: Sue ( Butch) Hazard of Bath, Linda Brewer of Woodhull, Ernest "Skip" (Gayle) Tongue Jr. of TN, Debora (Leon Sr.) Wilson of Hornby, Christine Snyder of Elmira; special niece: Sheila Allen of Bath; close friends: Deborah and Elliott Martin of Painted Post, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Carol Quigley and Steven Tongue.
Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney Street, Corning, NY on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Isaac Howe officiating. A spring burial will be in West Hill Cemetery in Hornby.
