Kathy Lynn Vanover

Kathy Lynn Coffey Vanover, born on October 19, 1956, in Iaeger, West Virginia, took her heavenly flight on January 21, 2025. She was the cherished daughter of the late Clarence and Laura Coffey.
Kathy spent her early years in southern West Virginia before making her home in Gastonia, NC. She was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Phyllis Blankenship and Jo Nell Riffle; her stepson, Jonathan Samuel Vanover; one grandson, Michael Brady Atwood; and one niece, Vera Lynn Tuell.
Kathy's memory will be lovingly cherished by her devoted husband of more than 34 years, Sam Vanover Jr.; her children, Leita Neal (Shane), Jason Vanover (Amanda), Lora Vanover; grandchildren, Clarissa Neal, Amber Green (TJ), Brittney Ellis (Matthew), Austin Neal, Matthew Atwood (Tabitha), Hysel Holbert, Savannah Neal, Jonathan Vanover (Nicole), Anna Schuler; sister, Carolyn Bailey; and twelve great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
Kathy's journey through life was marked by love for her family and a deep connection to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia.
