Katie Robyn VanScoy died unexpectedly at her home in Bucksport. She was born in Greenville, SC to parents Ron VanScoy and Allison Leach, on February 17, 1984.
She was smart, fiercely loyal, and incredibly funny. She loved her family, the beach, and music, most notably Sublime, Otis Redding, and Michael Jackson. She was a talented artist and a wonderful cook.
Katie will be remembered for her love of winning a game, her disdain of losing a game, her ability to put absolutely anything together, her creativity, and for being the absolute best and most thoughtful gift giver ever.
Katie was predeceased by two dads, Ron VanScoy and Jerry Leach. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her beloved daughter Rylee Vanscoy, her sisters Jessica VanScoy (and husband Derek), Kasie Laviolette (and husband Joe), her brothers Kel Leach (and wife Kelsey) and Nick Leach (and partner Josie), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She also leaves behind her spoiled and well loved dog, Molly.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 on January 21, at Mitchell Tweedie Funeral Home in Bucksport. Please come and share a story of Katie.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to a college fund for Rylee.
