Katie Wiedrick

1934 - 2026

Katie Ruth Kelly Wisthoff Wiedrick was born to Charles and Naomi (Fine) Kelly of Dayton, Tennessee on July 8, 1934.

Katie played for the Rhea Central High basketball team and was a candidate for the Dayton Strawberry Festival Queen. She graduated from Rhea Central High in 1951.

She married David Wisthoff on September 5, 1953, in Dayton.

Dave and Katie served in pastoral ministry together in five churches in Wisconsin. They then transitioned to North Dakota, serving in Williston, Stanley, and Glenburn.

Katie and Dave served as foster parents while in Stanley, ND. In addition, Katie worked as a Nurses' Aide at the Stanley Community Hospital.

Katie's husband Dave passed away in 1981.

Katie worked at the Minot Target store until she retired. She then served as the Visitation Minister for the Minot Immanuel Baptist Church, as well as helping with the church's Soup Kitchen.

Katie married Les Wiedrick on June 28, 2003. They enjoyed every day of their retirement together. They dined out, took many day trips across the region, her favorite being to Sully's Hill to watch the bison and prairie dogs. They spent winters in warm, southern climes, and celebrated every anniversary at Medora.

Katie was received into the arms of her Lord on January 8, 2026, at the age of 91.

She is survived by: husband of 22 years, Leslie; sister, Brenda Marler of Dayton, TN; children, David (Tam), Ruth (Brian), Stephen (Grace), Jonathan (Patty); step children, Kevin (Bonnie), Connie (Scott); ten grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; three nieces and a nephew.

Katie was preceded in death by: husband, Dave; her parents; sister, Mary Ellen Martin; daughter-in-law, Ronda Wisthoff; and step-son, Leslie Wiedrick.

Funeral: Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, ND.

Interment: Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Powers Lake, ND.

Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: are preferred to Camp Bentley and Immanuel Baptist Church.
