Katy Gray Mock
Katy Inez Gray Mock, 85 years, 9 months, 15 days old, passed peacefully to her heavenly home on December 20, 2025, at Glendale Gardens Nursing and Rehab in Springfield, Missouri with her family by her side.
Katy was the daughter of Isaiah Sidney Merriett and Dosha Vera (Day) Merriett Young. She was born March 5, 1940, in Wright County, Missouri.
Katy Evangelized and Pastored a church in her early teens and twenties. She continued to hold revivals and preaching engagements up to the end of life’s journey.
Katy had many accomplishments throughout her life. In 1981, she was with the Missouri League Nursing Home Administrator, Inc. She became a Certified Medication Technician in 1982. She was issued a Student Federal Aviation Pilot license in 1983. Later in 1985, she completed the Vocational Training for Modern Office Practice, accounting, transcribing and filing. Then in 1989, she completed her Certification for Hospice Program.
She was married in 1953, to Richard Gray. She had a daughter, Cleo Kathy (Gray) Anderson and five sons, Rickie, Randy, Ronnie, Richard II, and Reggie.
She married the love of her life, Robert Mock on October 3, 2015. She retired from all of her many jobs on April 5, 2016. Katy was first and foremost a Christian. She loved the Lord. After that she adored and loved her family and was dedicated to them all of her living days.
Katy was preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Cleo Kathy Anderson, grandson; Michael Drew Anderson, and several siblings.
Katy is survived by her husband, Robert Mock; her children and their spouses; Rickie (Renee ) Gray, Randy (Joyce) Gray, Ronnie (Deborah) Gray, Richard (Leesa) Gray, Reggie Gray; and blessed with 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Katy was quoted saying, “Do not grieve for me, just prepare to meet me in Heaven, where we will never part again.”
Funeral services for Katy will be Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel Ava, Missouri with burial following in the Dyer Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be her son, Pastor Randy Gray with tributes by all her sons. Memorials may be made to the Dyer Cemetery, Ava, Missouri.
