Kay Overman Barnhardt, 62, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 43 years to Doug Barnhardt who survives.
Kay devoted herself to her family and she was a member of St. Marks Church. She enjoyed spending time at Oak Island with her family and hunting for shells on the shoreline. Kay was very creative, making jewelry and stained glass. She spent many happy hours horseback riding and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Barnhardt of the home; sons, Brantley Barnhardt and wife, Paige and Weston Barnhardt both of Burlington; grandchildren, Bryce and Charlotte Barnhardt; sisters, Karen O. Garrison and husband, Ronald of Burlington and Helen O. Triplett of Wilmington, NC and her brother, Kerney Edgar “Tray” Overman III and wife, Lisa of Elon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kerney E. Overman, Jr. and wife, Mary Terrell Overman.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Pegg. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
