Kay Ann Jorgensen Dunlap, 84, of Franklin, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
She was born on July 2, 1941, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to the late Philip Kenneth Hillerup Jorgensen and the late Mildred Rebecca Salisbury Jorgensen. Kay was baptized at Bethany Lutheran (Danish Lutheran Church) in Copenhagen, Nebraska, a congregation founded in 1874 by her great-grandfather.
She graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in Missouri in 1959. Throughout her life, Kay Ann cherished her family, her faith, and the traditions that connected her to her heritage.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Lee Jorgensen of Granada, Wisconsin, along with extended family and friends who will remember her warmth and devotion.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, December 15th, at 11 am at Resurrection Lutheran Church.
