Kay Lavone Hobbs was born July 7, 1951 took her last breath on this Earth on August 23, 2025 at 11:07pm in Independence, Missouri with her son by her side.
Kay was a truck driver for over 30 years. She also was a foster mother to several children. She became especially close to three girls Judith, Emily, and Madison and their mother Stephanie. She also adopted three girls as well, Ashley, Shaquana, and Shaniquia. She was the only daughter out of 7 children.
She was preceded in death by her mother Bernice and her father Kenneth Hobbs. Three of her six brothers have since passed Jerry, Vernon (Chuck), and Larry. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law Dale and Greer Rossen. Two grandchildren Claudia and her husband Michael, Ireland and her husband Tyler. Two great grandchildren Alistaire 9 years and Magnolia 17 months. She has 3 living brothers Calvin, Steve and Stan. Several nieces, nephews and friends. At this time a memorial ceremony is in the works. Family and friends will be notified.
