Kay Hoffman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maupin Funeral Home - Fulton on Mar. 4, 2025.
Kay Annette Hoffman (Clark, Pilkington, Cepel), 83, entered her Eternal Heavenly Home joyfully and peacefully February 23, 2025. Kay's life was a testament to her deep faith, her passion for nursing, and her love for family and friends.
She was born on June 17, 1941 to the late Virginia Ann (Marchant) Clark and the late Bailey Raymond Clark in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Kay was a proud member of the Ponca City High School Class of 1959. She cherished the memories of her classmates and had the joy of attending her 60th Class Reunion, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Kay later graduated from Los Angeles City College in 1981, fulfilling her lifelong desire to work in healthcare. She went on to become a highly respected Pediatric Oncology RN, a career that she deeply loved while living in California.
In 1981, Kay and her husband, George, moved from Mariposa, California, to Fulton, Missouri, where they purchased and operated Kingdom Treasures Christian Bookstore, a place that became a spiritual haven for many. In 2013, after George's passing, Kay moved back to Ponca City to be near his grave and to spend precious time with her sister, Janell Bateman. In 2019, she made her final move to Columbia, Missouri, where she resided with her son, Christian, and his friend Dwight, who Kay lovingly referred to as her "son and caregiver."
Kay's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age, attending the First Baptist Church in Ponca City, and lived her faith every day, sharing it with those around her. She was a faithful prayer warrior, constantly lifting others up in prayer.
Her interests were as varied as her life experiences. Kay enjoyed playing the piano, singing, crafting, and collecting Precious Moments figurines and Marmalade Geese. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and she and George loved competing in square dance competitions and taking fishing trips to Minnesota. One of her fondest hobbies was raising chickens, an activity that brought her much joy.
Kay was also deeply connected to her nursing roots. She and her close friend, Shirley Ferrell, worked together as nurse aides at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, in their younger years. They remained dear friends throughout the years. Doris Pittman, a close friend from their church in California, also remained a constant presence in Kay's life.
Kay's kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. Her family and friends will miss her deeply but find peace and comfort in God's promise that she is resting in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. She will be dearly missed by her son, Christian, " son and caregiver," Dwight, sister, Janell, brother, Lynn, granddaughter, Tracy, great grandchildren, Elijah and Luna, her fur babies Willow and Luna, along with her extended family, and a host of friends, both near and far.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, daughter Allison, husbands, Jerry, Frank, and George.
Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Mark Berry, former pastor at Eastern Heights Christian Church officiating.
Memorial donations are suggested to Maupin Funeral Home, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251. " The light of God surrounds us, the love of God enfolds us, the power of God protects us, the presence of God watches over us, wherever we are, God is".
