David Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maupin Funeral Home - Fulton from Jan. 22 to Jan. 23, 2026.
David Elijah Clark, 83, of Fulton, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, surrounded by those he loved.

He was born on January 10, 1943, in Carlisle, Iowa, at his parents' home, to the late Warren F. Clark and Frances Moselle (Owens) Clark. In 1948, the family moved to Bachelor, Missouri, where David was raised.

On December 5, 1969, David was united in marriage to Regena Ann Moore, who survives him.

David was a devoted father who worked hard to teach his children to always do their best and to find enjoyment in whatever they pursued. He never shied away from work and truly found purpose in helping others whenever there was a need and he was able. Throughout his life, David held many positions, including working as a farmhand for Jack Bradley, at Auxvasse Elevator, Fulton State Hospital, the Missouri State Highway Department, and A.P. Green in Mexico until its closing in 2002. He later worked for the City of Fulton for nine years before retiring and then continued working as a truck driver for Holland Trucking until 2018. In addition to his strong work ethic, David proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Specialist Four from 1966 to 1968, a commitment that reflected his lifelong sense of duty and service.

David is survived by his wife, Regena Clark; children, Agness Clark of Auxvasse (from a previous marriage to Dorothy Diane Holmes), Michael Clark (Marnie) of Fulton, Mitchell Clark (Tammy) of Fulton, Marilyn Maier (Gary) of Jefferson City, and Marlene Talbert (Dru) of Kirksville; brothers, Marion "Maynard" Clark of Centertown and Gail Clark of Fulton; grandchildren, Candice Durlin Payne, Robert Durlin, Brian Durlin, David Durlin, Dustin Clark, Austin Clark, Lewis Clark, Matthew Clark, Bailey Tutt Hiles, Danielle Clark McCray, Brian Tutt, Maisie Maier, Alexander Maier, Clark Talbert, Kordel Maier, Cristyn Talbert, Callaway Talbert, and Cory Talbert, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Andy Lee Clark; brothers, Warren F. Clark and Ed Stajcar; sisters, Thelma Mae Clark and Hazel Lindhardt.

Funeral Services will be held at Victory Fellowship Church on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Crowson. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Maupin funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Missouri Veteran's Home Mexico Assistance League, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251.
