Edith "Edie" Estes

Edith "Edie" Estes, 72, of Kingdom City, passed away on January 29, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center.

Edie was born on July 26, 1953, in Independence, Missouri, to the late Henry James and Lois (Sharp) James.

She was united in marriage to Randy Estes on February 12, 1972, and he survives her passing.

Edie worked in security at the Fulton State Hospital, where she dedicated 25 years of service before retiring.

Edie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who treasured her family above all else. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones. Edie enjoyed camping, fishing and riding motorcycles with her husband, Randy, and shared many memorable motorcycle trips with their great friends, Kevin and Gerri West. One of their most cherished adventures was their final trip together, during which they traveled more than 8,000 miles, with their granddaughter riding along in the sidecar.

Edie is survived by her husband, Randy Estes; son, Danny Estes; two brothers; her sisters, Carole Hawkins, Helen Laxton, Mary Rants, Shirley Nichols, Doris Potts (Buddy), and Patricia Nida (Chris); her grandchildren, Landon, Layton, and Kersten Estes, Steven Bowen, Kayla Myers, and Selena Estes; along with numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, her son, Edward Estes, daughter, Mandy Estes, and her brother-in-law, Les Rants.

Memorial services will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bill Jessop Officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Church for a remembrance plaque in the name of their daughter, Mandy, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251.
