Kay Yvonne Levy

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Kay Yvonne Shellenberger Levy at the

age of 76.

She spent most of her life in Kenner, Louisiana, where she found comfort in her family,

friendships, and beloved pets. Kay had a way of speaking honestly and was never shy from

sharing her opinions. She loved thoughtful conversations with loved ones, especially over a

lunch from her favorite restaurants.

Kay is survived by her son, Clifford E. Levy, her grandchildren Andrew S. Levy (Jordan)

and Rileigh M. Levy, her great-grandson Dakota J. Levy, her sisters Judy A. McPeters (Richard)

and Virginia S. Genovese (Martin), her brother-in-law Barry Bairnsfather, her nephews Rich

McPeters (Pam), Barry "Butch" Bairnsfather, Scott Bairnsfather (Rebecca), and Joseph

Genovese (Ashley), her niece Shelley Genovese, and her close friend Betty Bayless.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Levy, her mother Dorothy M. Shellenberger, her father Charles E. Shellenberger, her sister Dorothy "Dotty" S. Bairnsfather, her niece Pamela A. McPeters, her close friend/neighbor Betty Kuhn, and her beloved pets Mimi and Taco.

Kay is remembered for her candor, her resilience, and her passion for Elvis Presley.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the Service on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, La. 70001. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with a Graveside service at 12:00 PM.
