Kay V. Pizinger, 86, of Woodward and formerly of Dayton, Iowa, passed away at her home in Woodward on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Dayton Cemetery. Pastor Kay. Christie will officiate. For online obituaries and condolences visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Kay Viola Dahl, daughter of Kyle John Dahl Sr. and Viola Marie (Cooper) Dahl was born on July 19, 1938, in Dayton, Iowa. She was raised in Dayton and attended local schools.

On November 27, 1954, Kay was united in marriage to Lawrence Don Pizinger in Dayton. They were blessed with two sons: Brenden Eugene and Scott Wade Pizinger.

Following their marriage the couple lived in Pecatonica, Illinois, while Lawrence worked at John Deere Company in Rockford. In the mid 1960’s the couple moved to Boone where Kay worked at Archway Cookies and Lawrence at Quinn’s Foundry. Later, Kay accompanied Lawrence while he worked over the road as a boiler maker for the Local Union 83 Kansas City. Lawrence passed away on April 19, 1995. Kay then moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she remained until moving to Woodward in 2016.

Kay was of the Methodist faith. She belonged to the Dayton Wranglers in her earlier years. She enjoyed sewing, growing flowers, and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lawrence Pizinger, son, Brenden Pizinger, and brothers, Gary Dahl and Kyle “Bud” Dahl Jr.

Survivors include her son, Scott Pizinger of Woodward, IA; grandchildren, Joseph Pizinger, Becky (Jeremy) Schwanz, Jordan Bates, Lisa (Jerry) Cook, and Brooke (Brent) Smith; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ardith (Jack) Dorman of Harcourt, IA, Toni (Larry) Kelley of Boone, IA, and Collette Lorentzen of Forest City, IA; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
