Kay Alane Scott, 77, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Arden Courts of Bath in Akron, Ohio, following a period of declining health. Born December 17, 1946 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Dwight Gerald and Rose Arlene (Williams) Scott. A 1964 graduate of Uhrichsville High School, Kay had a 42-year career with Sears in New Philadelphia.
Kay will be deeply missed by her sisters, Jane Demaree and Cindy Eiland; nephews, Jeff and John Demaree; and great-niece and great-nephews, Ryan, Lindsey, John Michael, Christopher, Joe and Tony. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime dear friend, Sue Saniga; brothers-in-law, John Demaree and Dennis Eiland; and her great-nephew and godson, Brandon.
An outdoor enthusiast, Kay loved fishing, camping and boating, as well as horseback riding. She and her family created many happy memories together during their annual fishing trips to Canada, and she will always be remembered as a fun aunt.
According to Kay's wishes, arrangements have been entrusted to the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, and cremation is planned without a public visitation. Pastor Kory Rowland will officiate a 1:00 p.m. graveside service on Monday, August 12, in Uhrichsville's Union Cemetery where she will be interred beside her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
