Kaye Scott

Miriam Kaye Scott, age 80, of Bucyrus passed away, Tuesday March 10, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born May 28, 1945 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Mary (Leonard) Poland. Kaye was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ronald Scott Sr., in October 2023. Ron and Kaye were married on April 23, 1965, and enjoyed 58 loving years together.

Kaye was a graduate of Colonel Crawford class of 1963. She was a stay at home mom for many years before being employed in medical records for several nursing home facilities and a secretary for Prudential in Bucyrus.

Kaye was an amazing artist who loved sharing her talent with her grandchildren as she

taught them to paint Bob Ross style. She was talented in playing the piano and crafting

ceramics. She was an amazing cook and baker being very well known for her grape pie

and delicious brownies and many tasty treats during the holiday season.

She was a former member of St Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson.

Kaye lived for her family cherishing time spent with them. She tended to spoil her

grandchildren allowing them to do things her children were never permitted to do, much

to the dismay of their fathers.

She is survived by sons Ron (Ronda) Scott and Steve (Stacey) Scott and grandchildren Dalton

(Kelsea) Scott, Micaela (Christian) Slaubaugh and Mariah (Brennen) Marsillett and her siblings Dale Poland and Karen Knapp.

In addition to her parents, Kaye was preceded in death by siblings Willard, Mart, Herbert, John, Betty,

Shirley, Barbara, Sandy and Mary.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Monday March 16, 2026 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will follow at 12:00 PM with Chaplain Doug Olson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
