Kayla Alexis Buie

Kayla Alexis Buie was born on September 30, 1994, in Lumberton, NC and departed this life on Monday, September 19, 2022. She was a graduate of Fairmont High School Class of 2013. Kayla enjoyed working with the elderly and was previously employed as a home health aid with various local Health Care Agencies. She loved the time she spent with family and friends. Kayla had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh.
She leaves to carry on her legacy, her two sons which were her pride and joy, Omari and Braylen; her mother Kimberly D. Buie of Fairmont, NC, her father Robert C. McKinnis of Fairmont, NC; five sisters, Skylar McKinnis, Coriana Chavis, Camiyah McKinnis, London McKinnis and Parris McKinnis of Fairmont, NC; 3 brothers, Desmond McKinnis, Tyrese Pittman and Nigel Leggette of Fairmont, NC; her aunts Cynthia B. Dudley, Kathy Buie, Cassandra (Charles) Davis and Kimberly McKinnis of Fairmont, NC, Lisa B. Johnson of Raleigh, NC and Wendy Barrow of Greenbelt, MD; her uncles Johnnie Campbell, Terrance (Cathy) Buie of Fairmont, NC, W. Reginald Buie of Fayetteville, NC, Larry Campbell of Bridgeport, CT and James (Angela) Buie of Graham, NC; a special "sister" and "brother", Dasha Cooper and Jawan Scott and a host of relatives and friends.

When words aren't enough to express what you want to say.
Please understand I'm doing the best I can. When I say I'm okay.
If there was something more I could've done or a price I could've paid,
To bring you back I would have, but I couldn't, So, I'm okay.
Although I don't like it, I don't want to be here like this today.
God thought it best for you to come unto Him and stay.
I'll miss you my sweet angel, Ride your wings and fly away.
Because rest is yours, peace is yours and for that I'm okay.
