Kayla Ariel Dudek, age 67, of Temple passed from this life on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital. Kayla was born on the 28th day of December 1957 in Covina, California to parents Merwin Pomeroy and Stella Mae (Ivie) Weitzel.

As a child, Kayla grew up in Killeen and Fort Hood before moving to Carrollton and then to Temple, where she would remain a resident until her passing. In 1975, Kayla married Alexander Dudek in Belton, Texas. The couple would spend many wonderful years together up until Alexander's passing in September 2004. Kayla would work as a housewife, taking care of their two children. Kayla attended worship at Temple Bible Church, where she was a member of the New Song Widows Ministry. She loved attending church and was never one to miss a sermon. Kayla was legally blind but that never stopped her from doing what she loved. To her family, she was always "On the Move". Kayla was zest for life; she lived her life to the fullest and loved everyone who was a part of it. She enjoyed watching "I Love Lucy" and going on lunch dates to Cotton Patch Café. Kayla will always be remembered for her free spirit and the love she had for her family and her friends. She will be deeply missed.

Kayla was preceded in death by her husband Alexander Dudek, parents Merwin and Stella, as well as one sister, Beverly Weitzel.

Kayla leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Twyla Dudek, son Richard Dudek, granddaughter Payton Dudek, grandson Triston Dudek, granddaughter Kalleigh Dudek, and sister Loretta Heimbold.

Funeral Service for Kayla will be held at Temple Bible church in the Creekview Room on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11 o'clock a.m. with Pastor Chase Bowers officiating.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with these arrangements.
