Kayla Running Hawk

Funeral services for Kayla Running Hawk, 29, of Kenel will be at 1 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Kenel Catholic Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 4 PM Thursday with a prayer service at 7 PM at the funeral home. Kayla passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024.
Kayla Marie Running Hawk was born in Bismarck, ND on March 14, 1995, to Cheryl Lyon and Gary Walking Elk and was the youngest of 8 daughters. At the age of 18, Kayla got married to Andrew Running Hawk, together they had 6 beautiful children. She grew up loving and living the country life. She loved working on cars, riding horses, fishing, hunting, and visiting her friends & family. Kayla attended school in Wakpala SD, Fort Yates ND and Mobridge SD.
Everywhere Kayla went she brought joy and laughter to everyone around her with her positive attitude and crazy humor. She was a free-minded person that told it how it was whether you liked it or not. Although Kayla was called home early to heaven, she was loved by many and will be missed by many more. Kayla will forever be remembered by her family and friends.
