Kayla Spencer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 11, 2025.
Kayla Renee Spencer a lifelong resident of Plaquemine LA, entered into eternal rest at her home on September 3, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on November 15, 1983, she was a cherished daughter, devoted mother, and a true friend to all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Kayla exemplified courage as she bravely faced the challenges of epilepsy along with many other health complications, never allowing it to dim her vibrant spirit. Her love for her family was evident, especially in her role as a devoted mother to her cherished children. Kayla's children were the light of her life and her love for them knew no bounds. She loved her family more than a frog loves a rainy day. Her affection for nature's simplicity was evident in her love for frogs. Kayla's soul found solace in the music of Johnny Cash, whose songs held a special place in her heart. With a Montego cigarette in one hand and a Coca-Cola in the other, she was the embodiment of authentic with the most down-to-earth soul.

Her gentle, kind, and caring demeanor will be deeply missed by her family, including her children, Braylin Spencer, Bradley Smith, Isabella Edwards, and Riley Sagona; mother, Debbie Spencer Bowman; father, Randy Lee Henson; brother, Chad Spencer and wife Shea; grandfather, Tex Williams; sister-in-law, Brandi Spencer; nephews, Brandon Spencer, Blake Spencer, Lanie Babin, Devon Spencer, Brant Spencer and Holly Spencer, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Spencer; and her grandmothers, Margaret Williams and Helen Henson.

The family will announce details of the memorial services at a later date. In this time of loss, they find solace in the memories of Kayla's loving presence and extend their heartfelt gratitude for the compassion shown by friends and community.
