Kaylene Marie Oehling, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 20 on January 10th, 2020. She was declared missing in January and was found on March 19th, 2023 in Pittsburgh, PA. Kaylene was born on August 6th, 1999 in Pittsburgh Pa, a daughter of her loving Mother Tiffany Young and Devoted Father Jason Oehling. Step-Daughter to Robyn Oehling. She is survived by her Parents and her 6 Siblings Mekayla (Claudio), Hailey, Michael, Kaidence (Keke), Shane, and Alayna. Followed by her grandparents Paul and Kim Young, Robert Eaton, and Liza Oehling. Her beautiful nieces; Catalina and her other niece on the way. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, chosen family, and friends. Preceding in death are her grandparents Cheryl Eaton and James Oehling Jr, and many great grandparents. As a child, Kaylene was a tomboy. She never let wearing a dress stop her from climbing trees, playing in the dirt, and catching grasshoppers. When she was young, she would spend most of her time outdoors. She would plan sleepovers on her trampoline to watch the stars and see lightning bugs. Kaylene was fond of animals and was always seen playing with her dogs. She grew up at her mother’s family camp fishing, swimming, and having fun by the campfire. Up at camp she would have many laughs playing “king of the dock”. Some of her favorite activities were to build cars and go to Pirates games with her father. She enjoyed shopping, and sitting outside listening to music with her mother. She loved to go on walks. Kaylene grew up in West Deer and Shaler Township and was a valued member of her community. She was sworn in as a junior firefighter. She was also a crew leader at her local church, St Victors. Kaylene, often called a “Firecracker”, greatly enjoyed her freedom and lived by her own set of rules. She was an outspoken force of beauty and ferocity, always telling it like it is. Known for her bright spirit and nature, Kaylene could walk into any room and immediately make friends. She considered most of her friends as family. She enjoyed meeting new people and went to school mainly to socialize with her peers. She dreamed of studying cosmetology and becoming a nail technician. She often practiced her talent on her younger sisters. She loved beauty; she always had her nails done. She expressed herself by wearing headbands, comfy patterned pants, and animal print. She loved to be in love and would go to great lengths to protect those she cherished. Kaylene had a heart of gold and her love for her siblings and family was fierce. She nurtured and cared for her younger siblings and cousins as if they were her own kids. Her siblings will always remember her as the best sister imaginable. She took her siblings on many ‘sibling day’ adventures. She would always show up for them, she never missed a birthday or school event. She made sure her siblings were taken care of and had her to look up to. Kaylene was someone you could always rely on, if you needed her she would stay awake all night to make sure you were okay. Kaylene has a big family who adores her. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones everyday. Her story leaves behind a tremendous sense of loss that is deeply felt throughout the community. Kaylene will forever be remembered for her caring and selfless nature. Friends will be received on Friday, April 28, from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Matthew Parish, All Saints Church, Etna on Saturday April 29 at 10:00 AM.

She talked to me every afternoon after school. She would sneak out early from class come to my bus and just unload everything and anything on me for 20 mins or so. Then she would spend 5 to 10 more mins with me as we would go to the next school. She would then board her own bus. Even if she wasn't riding a bus and was getting picked up. She would appear on my bus before getting a ride.
We spent time walking around the mall talking while waiting on her boyfriend to get off work. She talked I listened. She was always smiling. She had so many dreams. Kaylene really was a firecracker. She shined very bright and made the loudest boom.
