Kazuko Tokuhiga Greene, age 83, of Rutherfordton North Carolina passed away on May 27th, 2025. Kazuko was born on November 25th, 1941, in Naha Okinawa Japan.
Kazuko met and married George Alexander Greene on October 15th, 1963. Kazuko came to the United States with her husband in 1969. She became a United States Citizen after coming to the US, to which she was very proud of.
Kazuko was a seamstress, having worked for Doncaster Tanner Company for almost 30 years. She then went to work at Arby's for over 20 years. She enjoyed working and was still working fulltime hours up until she was 81 years old.
In addition to her parents Susumu Tokuhiga (father) and Kame Tokuhiga (mother), Kazuko is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years George Alexander Greene, siblings Hatsuko Tokuhiga (sister), Seiko Tokuhiga (brother), Seiji Tokuhiga (brother), Masako Tokuhiga (sister) and Nobuo Tokuhiga (brother).
Those left to cherish her memories are her son George Alan Greene (Julie Greene) of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren, Trey Greene of Rutherfordton, Logan Cope (Amanda) of Rutherfordton, Caleb Cope (Lilli) of Rutherfordton and Shania Surratt of Charlotte; 4 great grandchildren, Luke, Reddik, Lilah and Ryder. Beloved Family Sayumi Spenser (Charles Spenser) of Hawaii, George Tokuhiga (Sachiko & Mikki Tokuhiga) of Japan, Cindy Cope (Rodrigo) of Rutherfordton, Randy Cope of Union Mills, Lance Cope of Rutherfordton, Alina Chavez of Japan, and Haley Chavez of Peru,
A private service was held on Thursday May 29th, 2025, at 11:00am at Crowe's Mortuary & Chapel in Rutherfordton. Dr. Brandon Wood officiated the services, burial followed at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Trey Greene, Logan Cope, Caleb Cope. Great Grandsons: Luke & Reddik Young and family member Lance Cope.
