Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Bo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Garner, and his father-in-law, Everett Adkins.
Bo dedicated 33 years of his career to Crisp County Power, where he served as a plant operator at the generating plant on Lake Blackshear. A faithful member and Deacon of Third Street Baptist Church, Bo lived a life grounded in service, compassion, and community.
A loyal fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team, Bo also had a lifelong fascination with trains and was an avid railfan. His passion for history and genealogy often led him to explore his ancestral roots. Known for his generous spirit, Bo was always willing to lend a hand, no matter the need. His greatest joy came from being "Papa" to his beloved grandchildren, who brought endless joy into his life.
Bo is survived by his wife Melody Mendenhall of Cordele, his children Brandon (Brittany) Mendenhall of Ashburn, Ga. and Holly Mendenhall of Cordele, and his parents Kearney Mendenhall, Sr. and Emily Mendenhall both of Walkertown, N.C. He is also survived by his sister Teresa (Jon) Johnson of Walkertown, N.C., his mother-in-law Wanda Adkins of Cordele, and two brothers-in-law Ken Garner of North Georgia and Keith (Donna) Adkins of Cordele. His grandchildren Jayden Mendenhall, Blake Mendenhall, and Amelia Jane Mendenhall also survive and will miss their "Papa."
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Third Street Baptist Church, 307 N. 3rd St, Cordele, GA 31015.
