Keith Ackerman Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Keith Duane Ackerman, age 66, of Reese, died peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on the last day of 1958 in Saginaw, Keith was the son of the late Duane and Anita (Krabbe) Ackerman. His early years were spent in Reese, where he also completed his education, graduating from Reese High School. Keith's pursuit of knowledge continued at Delta, where he expanded his horizons and later received his private airplane pilot's license.

On March 26, 1994, Keith married the former Connie Lumm, and together they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter, raising two daughters. The joy of his life was further multiplied with the arrival of his grandchild, Wilder Piazza, who brought endless happiness to his days.

Keith's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Connie, his children, Dana (Matthew) Piazza and Demitria (Matt Rupp) Ackerman and his grandchild Wilder Keith Piazza. His memory will also be treasured by his brothers, Kenneth (Sue) Ackerman, and Glenn (Jodie) Ackerman; his mother-in-law, Veronica Longton; his sisters-in-law, Terry (Mark) Wood and Debbie Romosier; brother-in-law, Art Guerrero and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all touched by his kindness. In addition to his parents, Keith was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Sandy Guerrero, and father-in-law, Gary Lumm, who have welcomed him on the next stage of his journey.

Farming ran through Keith's veins for his entire life, and he approached it with the same dedication and passion that he did with everything. A man of deep faith, Keith was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese, where he found solace and community.

He had a passion for racing, whether it be in race cars or snowmobiles, and he always sought the thrill of competition. Yet, he also cherished the quieter moments spent fishing and camping with his family, where he could share the beauty of nature. Those who knew Keith will remember a man who was always willing to lend a hand.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his caregiver, Shanna, for her loving care and support during his final days.

Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Reverend Daniel Burhop will officiate with burial to follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Keith's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Trinity Lutheran Church or family wishes.

Yesterday

The Whole Ackerman clan are one of a kind. As they were harvesting corn last year; I asked Keith to pick some ear corn for my blue jays. Our talk of families and how I was related to Lionel ended up over a half hour visit. This passing is a true shocker. God grant him peace and his family
