Remembering Keith Aaron Allen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Keith Aaron Allen. Keith passed peacefully at the age of 79 on Saturday, December 7, 2024, held closely in the arms of his wife Linda. His departure leaves an indelible void, but his love and legacy will forever light our path.

Born on April 1, 1945, in Superior, WV, Keith was the cherished son of Aaron Oather Allen and Lillian Juanita Allen. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend whose kindness touched many lives. Keith's siblings, Bill Allen, Linda Simpson, and Betsy Turner, along with brothers-in-law Tuffy Bryant and Jim Bryant, and mother-in-law Lucille Bryant Riddle preceded him in death. However, his spirit lives on through his daughters, Catherine Allen Cisco (Pat) and Paula Allen Tibbs, and his adored grandchildren, William “Trey” Cisco, Toby Cisco, and Chase Tibbs. His sister Tonya Allen Walkup (Troy), brothers-in-law Richard Bryant (Vanessa) and Terry Simpson, son-in-law Chris Tibbs, sister-in-law Margaret Bryant, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews also survive him.

Keith served our country with pride in the National Guard for six years. He then dedicated 20 years of his life to Cannelton Coal Company as an electrician/mechanic, followed by 17 years at Eimco as a mining machinery repairman and overall plant maintenance. Keith was a master of his craft, and his work ethic was unparalleled.

Upon retirement, Keith channeled his energy and meticulous nature into the family home. He took immense pride in remodeling the entire house; kitchen, bathrooms, floors, and woodwork. The family home, a testament to his skill and dedication, stands as a warm and welcoming haven for his family.

Keith was a man of few words but deep emotions. He found joy in the simple moments shared with loved ones — sitting on the porch with his wife, admiring the yard he so lovingly tended, and sharing laughter and stories. His quiet strength and love were the cornerstones of our family.

A service in celebration of Keith's life will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Sherry Kernik of Bluewell United Methodist Church will officiate, with Danny Bowles also sharing his reflections. Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will follow the service on Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Though he is no longer with us, Keith's spirit remains a guiding light in our lives. We invite you to share your condolences and memories online at www.cravens-shires.com.
