Keith Anderson, also known as "Super Man", passed away on January 28, 2026, after an eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends who came fully prepared to send him Home the only way Keith would approve of: a killer playlist, a house overflowing with love, his soul-dog, BB, by his side, and absolutely no awkward silence. At the exact moment of his passing, "Shooting Star" by Bad Company was playing-an event that feels far less like coincidence and far more like Keith timing his exit for maximum dramatic effect. He knew he was a star, and he wanted to make sure we remembered it.
Keith is survived by his beloved "trophy wife," Patti, and the big, beautiful, blended family they created-thanks in no small part to Christine Anderson and Bill Markel. Together they shared Sarah Bruner (and her husband Danny), Kayla Zinn (and her husband Sam), Courtney Anderson (and her partner Tyler), Colin Anderson (and his partner Krista), and Allie Markel. He was a proud and doting Papa to Bailey, Michael, Isaac, Jefferson, Mia, Deacon, Wyatt, and Evelyn-each of whom knew they were his favorite (and all of whom were correct). He is also survived by his sister, Nan Anderson Burke (and her husband Tim).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Sheila Kozlowski Anderson, and his brother, Greg Anderson.
You didn't have to be blood to be family. "KA" loved his brothers-his Buffalo Boys: Peas, EB, Wind, AngRay, TC, Bundy, Whitey, Smoothie, Serge, Meat and Al (who beat Keith to Heaven). Though they're scattered across the country now, they remain the same boys from the fort behind St. Joe's. Together, they curated the playlist that ushered Keith into Heaven-because even in death, Keith refused to tolerate bad music.
After graduating from Amherst Central High School in 1987, Keith proudly served his country as a United States Army soldier. Though characteristically humble about his service, his accomplishments were impressive. He was an expert marksman entrusted with protecting some of the nation's finest. He later dedicated his career to healthcare in just about every form imaginable-from bedside care at St. Joseph's (Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus), to educating others on "that damn system," and eventually configuring "that damn system" so caregivers' lives were a little easier. Throughout his cancer journey, Keith showed immense compassion toward those caring for him-because he'd walked in their shoes and never forgot what it felt like to be on the other side of the bedrail.
Keith was a passionate man who loved fiercely. He loved his family, his dogs (BB and Milo), and his Boys. He loved that he somehow managed to keep his glorious hair throughout chemo treatments. He was a die-hard Bills fan, despite their long-standing commitment to emotional damage. He loved woodworking, painting, singing in the shower, playing guitar, and jamming to music ranging from Slipknot to Barry Manilow. His love of music was rivaled only by his devotion to Bocce Pizza and Mighty Taco-both of which should honestly sponsor this obituary.
Keith was a charmer of all ages. He could talk a 30-year seasoned nurse off the ledge using that smooth Barry White voice, and just as easily organize a full-blown game of Shark Week with kids in a Dominican Republic pool.
Keith will continue to bring joy and laughter to all who knew him-through cherished memories, the massive family he built, and the mysterious Temu packages that will likely continue arriving indefinitely.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Keith's memory to make a donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the
Wounded Warrior Project.
