Keith Barwick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jansen Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Apr. 6, 2024.
Keith Frank Barwick, affectionately known as Barlow, passed away on April 4, 2024, in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on November 1, 1959, in Royal Oak, Michigan, Keith was a man whose vibrant spirit and boundless energy were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His life was a testament to the love he carried for his family, his country, and the simple joys that life offers.
Keith proudly served his nation as a veteran of the United States Army, a period of his life that shaped much of his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and resilience. His work ethic and commitment to service followed him throughout his career, where he was known for his involvement in various associations and his entrepreneurial spirit in buying, selling, and trading cars and boats. He had an eye for a good deal and the charm to strike one.
His daughters, Beth (Dan), Shannen (Justin), and Karilyn (Mike), were the pride and joy of his life. Keith's guidance and advice were ever-present, as he lovingly helped navigate them through life's many turns. His sisters, Janice (Doug), and Tina (Mike), will remember him as a devoted brother whose laughter and stories could light up any room. Keith's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Mikey, Karlee, Mya, and Blakely, who will carry forward his love and zest for life.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Joyce, and his stepmother, Geri. He leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be held dear by his many nieces and nephews, best friends, and his daughter's mother, Diane, with whom he shared an enduring bond.
A man of many interests, Keith was an avid karaoke singer, often serenading friends and family with the timeless tunes of Frank Sinatra, whose music he adored. His sense of humor was infectious, and his passion for storytelling turned gatherings into memorable events. Keith was a lover of all animals and lived his life to the fullest, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of advice.
Those who knew Keith understood his love for being surrounded by people. He was a beacon of optimism and passion, his loving nature drawing others to him. His ability to see the good in every situation and his eagerness to embrace life's adventures made him a cherished companion and confidant.
Keith's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will continue to inspire us to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often. His was a life well-lived, and the memories he created will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his journey.

I remember Keith being so proud of his first guitar that he got for Christmas one year. He brought it to our house, sat by the Christmas tree and showed me some chords he had already learned that same day. I was excited for him because HE was so excited. This was 1969 or 70. I am so thankful that Bob and Phyllis shared Keith with the rest of us kids on Tawas. I had the privilege of speaking with him on the phone about 2 years ago. We had not seen each other in over 50 years so catching up in one phone call was not possible. We both hoped that our paths would cross again some day and visit in person. We will see each other again, in a better place
