Stanley Martin Bruce

Stanley Martin Bruce, a man of courage and adventure, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on January 5, 1938, Stanley's life was a testament to the strength and joy found in the great outdoors.

Stanley's journey began as the cherished son of Glenn and Emma Bruce, who instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication. Though they, along with his beloved wife Diana and siblings Chuck, Sally, Glenn, and Marion, preceded him in death, their influence shone brightly through his actions and the legacy he leaves behind.

Stanley is survived by his sons Steven, Denis, Jeffrey (and wife Laurie), Corey Bruce, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Stanley's brother Lee and his close nephew Chuck also remain to honor his memory, each holding dear the times they shared.

Stanley's career with the City of Lapeer as a heavy equipment operator spanned many years, culminating in his retirement in 1997. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his passions outside the office. As an avid outdoorsman, Stanley found solace and excitement in hunting, fishing, and golf. He was a familiar face on the softball fields, where his competitive spirit and camaraderie with teammates were always on display.

Not one to sit idle, Stanley was also a talented welder and took great pride in his vegetable garden. His hands, often dirt-stained from tending to his crops, were a symbol of his connection to the earth and his self-reliant nature.

Those who knew Stanley would describe him as courageous, adventurous, and protective, these traits that were evident in everything he pursued. Whether he was navigating a dense forest or sharing stories of his latest catch, his zest for life was infectious. His stories, often told with a twinkle in his eye, will be retold and cherished by those who were fortunate enough to hear them firsthand.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Stanley's Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville.
