It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keith Anthony Bertrand, age 68, who left us peacefully on April 3, 2025. Keith was born on February 23, 1957, in Mamou, LA, and he made his home in Roanoke, LA, where he created countless cherished memories with friends and family.
Keith was a dedicated barge engineer in the oil and gas industry but also had a second calling as a bailiff for the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office. He had a passion for the outdoors, often spending his free time fishing and cooking delicious meals for his loved ones. Family was everything to him, and he always put them first, filling their lives with love and laughter.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice Bourque Bertrand; his children, Jessica (Shane) Touchet, Jeremy Bertrand, Jennifer (James) Auble, Joshua (Brianne) Bertrand; brother, Kevin Bertrand; his eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA, on Tuesday April 8th, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service the same day.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., in the Miguez Chapel, with Pastor Josh Belt officiating. Keith will then be laid to rest in Doucet Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
