Keith Justin Chrislip, 46, formerly of McPherson, KS, passed away on December 3, 2024, at his home in Wichita, KS.
Keith was born on May 11, 1978, in McPherson, KS. He was the youngest of three children born to Richard and Joyce (Gantt) Chrislip. He grew up and attended school in McPherson and graduated from McPherson High School in 1996. His interests in school included baseball, track, cross country running, and music.
In 2000, he relocated to the Kansas City area where he worked as a carpet installer, eventually owning his own installation company. This is where he lived with his high school love, Teri Becker. They married August 24, 2002, and made their home in Olathe, KS with their dog, Chloe. Keith and Teri were blessed with a son, Finley Alexander Chrislip, who was born January 21, 2011. Keith loved and adored both Finley and Chloe. He was never the same after they both passed away in 2014. Keith loved all animals.
Later in 2015, Keith moved to Wichita, KS, and resided there until moving back to McPherson, KS for a small period of two years. He had moved back to Wichita, KS until his death.
Keith loved family, fishing, and being outdoors. He had a love of music, listening to and playing it. He could play several instruments, but guitar was his passion. He had an interest in learning through watching documentaries and looking at the stars and planets with his telescope.
Survivors include his parents, Rick and Joyce Chrislip of Wichita, KS; a brother, Paul Chrislip of Wichita, KS; a sister, Stacy Unruh of McPherson, KS; paternal grandmothers, Jan Chrislip and Mae Birkes, both of McPherson, KS; and a niece and several nephews along with other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Finley Chrislip; dog daughter, Chloe Chrislip; maternal grandparents, George and Mary Gantt; paternal grandfather, Robert Chrislip; former father-in-law, Marlin Becker; and a cousin, Hayden Ballou.
A celebration of life (come & go) will take place on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.
