1SG Keith Aaron Comer (retired), 60, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2022 in Bedford, PA. Born on July 15, 1962 in Cumberland, MD. He was the son of Kenny Snyder and the late Sandy (Lambert) Snyder.
Keith grew up in Cumberland, MD. He graduated from Fort Hill High School and joined the US Army Reserves in 1980. He proudly served as an MP for 40 years and achieved the rank of First Sergeant. He served in/on many deployments including: Germany, Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Cuba receiving numerous accommodations and awards. He retired from military duty in 2020. He worked and retired from the MD State Police with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division after 29 years, as well as the PA Game Commission as a Wildlife Conservation Officer.
Keith married Christina in 2012 in Bedford, PA. Keith was Scout Master of BSA Troop #4077 as well as many other police and military organizations.
Keith was preceded in death by his mother Sandy Snyder and his biological father Donald Comer.
Keith is survived by his spouse Christina of Everett, PA; his sons Douglas Comer, Andrew Brown and his daughter Kimberly (Josh) Gaston; his sister Candace House and brothers Christopher Comer, Donald Comer, Robert Borrows, and Clint Snyder; his grandson Grayson Gaston; his many nieces and nephews, extended family/friends, his soldiers whom he lovingly referred to as his children and his very special great nephew Patrick who was his buddy.
A visitation will be held at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A. 404 Decatur St, Cumberland, MD 21502 on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 4-7 PM. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Kirk McTaggart officiating. There will be no interment or graveside services. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
