EFFINGHAM --- Richard Bryant Comer of Effingham, NH, passed away at the age of 67, on Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of his wife Annette and his daughter Lindsey.

Richard was born on December 13, 1958 to the late Henry Bryant and Marjorie Belle (Pierce) Comer. He served in the Marines for 4 years and the Navy for 24. He was married for 16 years to the love of his life, Annette (Labrecque) Comer.

Rich was an amazingly intelligent man. He read every single scrap of paper he could get his hands on, and could answer nearly every question you asked him. As well as being proficient with literature, Rich was instrumental in solving any technology issues that came up. He was also a proud officer of the Friends of the Effingham Library, and held a seat on the board of directors for the Chocorua Lake Conservancy. He was also an avid HAM radio operator. Rich was especially proud of his brand-new grand baby, Oliver Henry, and enjoyed the time he got to spend with him. He also loved spending time with his puppies, Sam and Molly.

Mr. Comer is survived by his loving wife, Annette (Labrecque) Comer, his daughter Lindsey Comer and her husband Taylor Gerrity, his grandson Oliver Henry Gerrity, his sisters Barbara Resnick and Debra Mallon, and many nieces, nephews, loving friends and loving relatives. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Patricia Comer and his brother Robert Comer.

A wake will be held from 2pm to 5pm, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home, 2395 White Mountain Hwy, West Ossipee, NH 03890. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM the following day, and everyone is invited to join the family at Hobb's restaurant right next door immediately following the end of the service at 11:30 AM.
