Keith Duane Danhof

Keith Duane Danhof, age 81, passed away on October 10, 2025. He was born in Muskegon, MI on September 22, 1944, to Henry and Alvina (Johnson) Danhof. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1963. From there he proudly served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman and later as a Door Gunner aboard a Huey helicopter.

On November 9, 1968, he married the love of his life, Patricia Donley. They spent 56 years together making many memories. After his time in the military, Keith worked as a machinist for Kaydon, where he spent 40 years before retiring on July 31, 2006.

Keith was very proud of his time in the service. In more recent years he worked as a mentor for service members in veteran's court. He was active in the North Muskegon VFW Post 8846, The Lakeside Vets, Vietnam Vets of America, the Whitehall American Legion and the Vikings Linné Lodge #57.

Keith loved working in his yard and being out in nature, whether that be hunting, fishing or just enjoying a walk. He also enjoyed cars, specifically hot rods and was a loyal Lions fan. Keith was known for his wicked sense of humor, and he loved playfully teasing friends and relatives, especially his grandkids. His smile and sense of humor will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Keith was one of those people who was loved by everyone he met.

Keith will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Danhof; 3 children, Jennifer (Mark) Chandonnet, Kerri Danhof and Jeff Danhof; 5 grandchildren, Gavin, Sam, Hallie, Stella and Cecilia; special nephew, Brian Rohrmoser; brother-in-law, Jerry (Shari) Donley; sister-in-law, Cheryl Donley, many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law; sister, Bonnie Rohrmoser; and 2 brothers-in-law, Frank Rohrmoser and Bruce Donley.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Rd, Muskegon, MI 49445 with a visitation one-hour prior. Military Honors will be offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Honor Detail of the Army National Guard. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Muskegon County Veteran Affairs and/or North Muskegon VFW Post 8846.
