Keith Demers, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, April 18, at Elliot Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Keith was born on August 21, 1961, in Methuen, Massachusetts, to Arthur and Jeannette (Carney) Demers.
Keith graduated from the Carpentry Program at Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School and went on to become a masterful finish carpenter. His dedication to perfection was unparalleled, and he brought that passion to his work at Cyr Lumber of Windham, NH.
Though Keith was accomplished in his career, his greatest joy came from his family. He prioritized his wife and children above all else and was known as a father figure and mentor to many. Keith's gentle demeanor, reliability, and vast knowledge made him not only a beloved family member but a friend to everyone he met.
Keith had a deep love for sports, the outdoors, birds, and astronomy. He found solace in the night sky, often spending evenings around a campfire, gazing at the stars. His curiosity about the universe was boundless, and he would have eagerly journeyed to the moon given the chance.
Keith leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He was the devoted husband of Janine (Fox) Demers for 35 years and the proud father of three children: Kevin Demers and his wife Alicia of Hudson, NH, Kory Demers and his wife Nicole of Pooler, GA, and Kelsey Demers and her partner Matthew Murphy of Manchester, NH.
In addition to his immediate family, Keith is survived by his brothers Roger Williams and life partner Amy Gallatin of Glastonbury CT, David Demers and life partner Debbie Lamirande of Newport NH, Donald Demers and wife Susan of Medway ME, Lee Demers and wife Kay of Warner NH, Michael Demers and wife Patty of Millinocket ME, and sister Lainie Roy and husband Mike of Old Town ME. He was a beloved son-in-law of Doris Fox of Lawrence MA, and brother-in-law of Sandra Walton and husband Mike of Dracut MA, Kathleen Gardner and life partner Russell Lambert of Lawrence MA, Christine Doherty and her husband Jim of Chester NH, Sheila McCarran and husband Rich of Londonderry NH, and Lisa Arsenault and husband Alan of Chester NH. Keith also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he cherished deeply.
Keith's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His absence is profoundly felt, and his family will forever mourn the loss of such a kind and loving soul. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Jeannette Demers, two brothers, Arty Demers and Brian Demers, and his father-in-law, Kenneth Fox.
In accordance with Keith's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Instead, his family asks that you honor his memory by cherishing your loved ones and living each day with kindness and compassion, as Keith did throughout his life.
