Richard A. Demers

Richard A. Demers, 72, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Regina M. (McAvoy) Demers.

He was born in Portland, ME, on September 5, 1952, and was the son of the late Sylvio J. and Lillian A. (Armstrong) Demers.

Richard was raised in Medford and attended Medford Public Schools. He was a Master Electrician for over 40 years with Kennedy and Difraia Electric out of Somerville. Richard was an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 416 out of Medford; an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Bruins; and his two favorite hobbies were collecting coins and doing puzzles.

In addition to his loving wife of 37 years, Regina, Richard is survived by his children, William and his wife Marissa Menear of Whitman, MA, Cynthia and her husband Kevin Farrell of Hudson, NH, Michael of Hudson and his girlfriend Danielle, NH, and Daniel of Dracut, MA; and his four grandchildren, Erin, Ryan, Sara, and Greyson. He is also survived by his brother Philip of Nashua, NH; his niece Lori of Florida; and his nephew Paul of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews; and by his loving sister-in-law Linda Nielsen of Hudson, NH; as well as many of his childhood friends whom he called "The Medford Boys."

Richard is predeceased by his sister Sharon Demers.
