Keith Allen Gesinger was born on February 12, 1962 in Gettysburg, South Dakota to Ann Marie Rousseau and Gerald Gesinger. He lived in Ridgeview for most of his life. He attended grade school in Ridgeview and Graduated from Eagle Butte High School.
Keith worked everything from construction, farming, ranching, and prison guard to car sales. He served several years on the CRST Telephone Board and the Tiospaye Topa School Board and was a big advocate for promoting programs on the reservation.
Keith met Beth Elaine Scott while they were both working the horse races. Keith won Beth's heart and a great love began. Their first date was on June 12, 1983 and they married one year later on June 12, 1984. Shortly after they were married, they returned to Ridgeview and worked for his dad ranching and farming. Keith and Beth built up their cattle herd. When Amos Claymore's ranch became available, they jumped at the chance to establish the Hanging G Ranch. Later on they were able to buy his brothers' land and included farming in their way of life.
Keith was a man of many talents and a great provider. He would step up and do whatever needed done. He was an amazing husband and dad. The greatest blessing of Keith's life was when his daughter Anndee Yvonne was born on May 27, 1993. Being a daddy was the highlight of his life. He was a dedicated father and played a large part in all of her activities.
When Keith wasn't working, he enjoyed sports, especially golf. He traveled many miles and to many places to play a game of golf. He met many new friends during this time. He was also known to enjoy a bit of gambling. He loved to make bets on everything in life. He was always challenging others with a "I'll give you this if you can do that." He believed and always said, "Everything has a purpose and a reason."
Keith took pride in everything he had and did whether it was his family, his cattle, or golfing. He will be greatly missed by many.
Keith is survived by his wife, Beth; daughter, Anndee; brothers; Jim (Marie) Gesinger of Cacapon, WV, Steve Gesinger of Arizona City, AZ, and Greg (Karen) Gesinger of Miller, SD; sisters, Sharon (Jim) Wright of Parade, SD, and Ruth Gesinger of Belle Fourche, SD; mother-in-law, Elaine Scott of Fort Pierre, SD; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Marie Rousseau; two brothers, Terry and James; father-in-law, Pat Scott, and brother-in-law, Jim Wells.
