Keith Fowers Green (age 84), beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin, passed away peacefully in
Ogden, UT, on July 21, 2024 surrounded by family. Keith was born on March 20, 1940, in
Ogden, UT, to Evan and Marjorie Green. He is the second of six siblings. Keith's life is remembered for his playful spirit, creative problem-solving genius, strong work ethic and love of music, travel, and the mountains. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ in Ontario, Canada, under then Mission President Thomas Monson. He considered his mission to be the "most wonderful and educational years" of his life. It is also where he learned to play the guitar which brought him great joy throughout his life. When he returned from his mission, he married Marion Howells on June 29, 1964, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were dedicated parents to their three daughters: Kathryn, Deborah, and Victoria.
He attended Weber State College where he became a proficient welder and was encouraged to take a sheet-metal class offered by Hill Air Force Base. Upon completion of this course, he was offered a full-time job at Hill Air Force Base in June 1966, retiring after 38 ½ years in January 2005. Keith often worked multiple jobs at the same time, including as a clerk at Simpson's Market, Maverick, and Sears and driving a Utah Transit Authority commuter bus to Hill Air Force Base. He retired from both Sears and the Utah Transit Authority in 1999.
He married Arlene East on November 5, 1999, in the Ogden LDS Temple. Keith and Arlene loved to travel the world. They visited several countries including Peru, Mexico, Switzerland, and Canada. In the summers, they could be found in their cabin in the Wasatch mountains or pulling their trailer to a National park or favorite campsite.
Keith is survived by his wife, Arlene East, with whom he was married for nearly 25 years; his daughters Kathryn (Carlton) Greene, Deborah (Kevin) Bolton, and Victoria (Robert) Fustos; a stepson, David (Shawnette) Sottosanti and stepdaughter, Karen (Ardell) Allred. Also surviving are his siblings Dale (Chris) Green, Deanna (Bryce) Porter, Cheryl (Mark) Rose, and Marvin (SuzAnn) Green. His legacy is carried on by his 10 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He leaves behind many extended family and friends all of whom loved him and will miss him dearly. Keith was predeceased by his wife, Marion Howells Green, and sister, Marcene Shaw.
